Meet your guide at the entrance of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the royal historic home of the Bourbons, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It was built at the behest of the King of Naples Charles of Bourbon, struck by the beauty of the Caserta landscape. The visit will begin by walking up the Grand Staircase to the upper floor where the Royal apartments are located. You will start from the newer apartments built in the 19th century which include the Throne Room, and then continue your visit to the 18th century apartments where, among others, the Winter Room, the Spring Room and the Palatine Library are located.
The royal palace is surrounded by a large park, of about one hundred and twenty hectares, divided into two areas: the Italian garden, with its fountains and the famous Grande waterfall and the English garden, characterized by dense forests. Your guide will take you through the Italian garden before ending the tour. Anyone wishing to visit the English garden can do it independently by reaching it on foot or with the means made available in the park (for a fee, not included in the price).
