Pick up at 8:15 in Naples (place to be agreed) for a visit of about 2 hours in the heart of the Neapolitan city. Inside the Duomo you can admire the Baroque Treasure Chapel and the basilica of S. Restituta, the first early Christian basilica of the 4th century AD. Continuation by minibus to the city center passing through the Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino) and stop at Posillipo. to take souvenir photos from the terrace of the church of S. Antonio, from which you can enjoy the best panoramic view of the gulf. Return to the center for a visit to Piazza del plebiscito, overlooked by the Royal Palace and the church of San Francesco di Paola. Adjacent to the square you will find the San Carlo Theater and the Umberto I Gallery.
Continue to Pompeii for a guided tour of the most famous Archaeological Park in Italy (about 2 hours). The guide will illustrate the most suggestive places of the ancient city such as the Forum, the Baths, the Lupanare which were buried by ashes and lapilli during the eruption of 79 AD. After the visit, a lunch break is scheduled to taste the famous pizza Margherita (a soft drink included).
Transfer by bus to the Vesuvius National Park up to an altitude of 1000 m. The volcanological guide will take you on path no. 5 of the “Gran Cono” or will wait for you directly at the crater. Along the way you can observe various fumaroles and the magnificent panorama of the Neapolitan coast, which on clear days will give you a view that ranges from the Sorrento Peninsula to the Phlegraean Fields. At the end of the excursion, return to Naples at the pick-up location at approximately 17:30.
