Napoli, Pompeii & Sorrento

Pick up at the hotel at 8:15 (time to be confirmed) for a visit of about 2 hours in the heart of the Neapolitan city. Inside the Duomo you can admire the Baroque Treasure Chapel and the basilica of S. Restituta, the first early Christian basilica of the 4th century AD. Continue by minibus to the city center passing through the Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino) and stop in Posillipo to take souvenir photos from the terrace of the church of S. Antonio, from which you can enjoy the best panoramic view of the gulf. Return to the center for a visit to Piazza del Plebiscito, overlooked by the Royal Palace and the church of San Francesco di Paola. Adjacent to the square you will find the San Carlo Theater and the Umberto I Gallery.

Continue to Pompeii for a guided tour of the most famous Archaeological Park in Italy. The guide will illustrate the most suggestive places of the ancient city such as the Forum, the Baths and the Lupanare which were buried by ashes and lapilli during the eruption of 79 AD. After the visit there is a lunch break to taste the famous Margherita pizza (one soft drink included).

Afterwards, departure to the Sorrento peninsula by bus. Along the way you can admire the suggestive medieval castle from which the city of Castellammare di Stabia takes its name, the small and enchanting beaches of Vico Equense and Seiano and the typically Mediterranean vegetation of these places, which gives the landscape the liveliness of the colors of the lemons and oranges. Stop at the viewpoint of Meta di Sorrento to admire the panorama that extends to the island of Capri and take some photos.

Arrival in Sorrento and stop for a short walk (about an hour). The guide will show you the most famous places in the city walking through characteristic alleys full of shops and craft shops and finally the Villa Comunale with its terrace, from which you can admire once again the beauty of the Gulf of Naples and immortalize with photos the “precious” Sorrentine scenario. Return to the hotel around 5.15pm.
