Meet your guide at the ticket gate and start the journey through time to discover the archaeological site of Herculaneum, a Unesco world heritage site. The ancient city was chosen by the Romans as a summer residence for its location near the sea and the center of the Gulf of Naples. The eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD buried the city with mud lava which sealed the site and that is why it is still possible to visit villas, houses, and shops which are decorated with mosaics, paintings, and statues. Some wooden and textile partitions are still well preserved today and will offer you a unique experience of private life in antiquity.
Enjoy the walking tour and learn all about the fascinating history surrounding the ruins.
