Meeting with the guide and start the walking tour of the archaeological ruins, Unesco world heritage site. The ancient Herculaneum was chosen by the Romans as a summer resort, thanks to its enviable position in the center of the Gulf of Naples. The eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD buried the city with mud lava, which sealed the ruins. Villas, houses, and shops adorned with mosaics, paintings, and statues, some wood and fabric partitions are still well preserved today and will offer you a unique experience of private life during the Roman Empire. You can visit public buildings such as the Sede of Augustali, and private buildings such as Casa del Tramezzo di Legno ( wooden partition) and Casa del Bicentenario (bicentenary) and take photos of the city from above.
Our guide will accompany you to discover this and much more.
