Naples “Sun, art and traditions” Walking Tour
Meeting with the guide in Naples at 9:00 in front of the Annunziata Cathedral commonly known as the Cathedral of San Gennaro located in the homonymous street. You will begin your visit from the imposing cathedral which houses the treasure chapel of the patron saint of the city. The tour will continue on foot in the heart of the historic center, passing through the very famous via San Gregorio Armeno, known worldwide for the presence of traditional workshops of artisans expert in the art of nativity scenes, the characteristic “Spaccanapoli” street, where you will cross the church of Gesù Nuovo and the church of Santa Chiara.
Upon arrival in Piazza Dante you will have free time for a quick lunch. We suggest tasting the tasty Margherita pizza folded into four parts in the “wallet” manner. After the stop together with the guide you will take the subway from Piazza Dante to the “Toledo” stop (ticket included). The art station in via Toledo has been designated as one of the most beautiful metropolitan stations in Europe. Leaving the train you will find yourself at sea level immersed in deep blue mosaics that become more and more clear as you go up the escalators, illuminated by the light that passes through the cone of the “Crater de luz”.
Once you reach the street level you will continue the tour walking through the characteristic and famous via Toledo. Walking on your left you will find the Galleria Umberto I. Once in Piazza del Plebiscito, the guide will show you from the outside the main monuments of the city: Church of San Francesco di Paola, Teatro San Carlo and Palazzo Reale. You will cross the square to continue towards the Santa Lucia district until you reach Castel dell’Ovo.
